Apple announces Apple Home Collection with Matter lock and thermostats
Announced Apple
Apple has announced Apple Home Collection, a range of smart home accessories designed with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. The lineup includes four LG cameras (Video Doorbell, Floodlight Cam, Outdoor Cam and Indoor Cam), the LG Smart Deadbolt Lock, smart thermostats from both LG and Schneider Electric, and matching temperature and humidity sensors. Setup starts with a tap of an iPhone, and everything is managed in the Apple Home app without a separate app or account.
According to Apple, the LG Smart Deadbolt Lock is Matter compatible and supports Aliro, and its core access functions run locally without an internet connection. Apple also describes both thermostats and the temperature and humidity sensors as Matter compatible. Every product in the lineup supports Thread. Apple has not said whether the cameras are Matter devices; they rely on HomeKit Secure Video and an Apple home hub.
Apple says sales begin in December at apple.com/store, in the Apple Store app and in Apple Store locations, with some accessories following in early 2027. Apple's announced US starting prices are $349.95 for the LG Smart Deadbolt Lock, $199.95 each for the LG and Schneider Home smart thermostats, $39.95 for each brand's room sensor, $249.95 for the LG Video Doorbell Wired, $399.95 for the Floodlight Cam, $299.95 for the Outdoor Cam Plug-In and $199.95 for the Indoor Cam Plug-In. The lock and thermostats are listed for the US and Canada, and the cameras for the US, Canada and the UK.
