About Products That Matter

Products That Matter is an independent directory of Matter-certified smart home products. The goal is simple: when you're shopping for smart home gear, you should be able to filter by what actually works with the Matter standard — across brands, categories, and regions — without wading through marketing copy.

The directory currently tracks 460+ products from 80+ brands across 10 regions (US, UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Japan, Brazil). It's updated continuously as new Matter-certified devices come to market.

Who runs this

The site is built and maintained by Matthias Van Gorp, a Belgian software developer based in Budapest. I run a small Laravel agency and built this directory because I needed it for my own smart home, and existing resources were either incomplete, brand-biased, or buried behind paywalls.

How it's funded

Products That Matter participates in the Amazon Associates program. When you click an "View on Amazon" link and buy something, I earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This funds hosting and the time spent keeping the catalog current.

Affiliate revenue does not influence which products are listed. Inclusion criteria are simple: the product must be Matter-certified (or the manufacturer must explicitly state Matter compatibility) and available for purchase on Amazon in at least one supported region.
