Home Assistant 2026.11 adds Matter camera support
Announced
Home Assistant 2026.11.0, released November 4, 2026, adds support for Matter 1.5 cameras in the Matter integration. According to the official release notes, a Matter camera appears as a camera entity with live video and snapshots. Live video streams with WebRTC directly between the browser and the camera, and the entity mirrors the camera state, including privacy mode.
Home Assistant only discovers Matter cameras when the connected Matter server is recent enough to support them. The same release also introduces a Labs preview feature called Two-way audio, which adds a talk button on the live stream for cameras whose integration supports it. In this release that includes Matter cameras and Reolink (RTSP). Two-way audio currently requires opening Home Assistant over HTTPS so the browser can use the microphone.
The release notes do not list specific Matter camera models. Availability of camera features still depends on the Matter camera hardware and the Matter Server version.
