Aqara Outdoor Plug H2 EU adds Thread
Announced Aqara
Aqara has launched the Outdoor Plug H2 EU, a weather-resistant smart plug with an IP44 rating for gardens, patios and balconies. It reports power usage and has a child lock, and it cuts power on its own if it overloads or overheats. The status light can be set to follow the switch state or turned off.
The plug supports two protocols. In Thread mode, it joins third-party Matter ecosystems directly and needs a Thread-enabled Matter controller from that ecosystem, but no Aqara hub. In Zigbee mode, it needs an Aqara Zigbee hub and unlocks Aqara-only features. As the name says, it's an EU-plug model, and Aqara hasn't announced a US version or a price.
